Water-based uv paint uses water as the solvent, which saves a lot of resources and greatly reduces fire hazards during construction; the air pollution is also greatly reduced. A small amount of low-toxic alcohol ether organic solvents are used to improve the working environmental conditions. Generally, the organic solvent of water-based UV paint is between 15% and 15%, but the current cathodic electrophoretic paint has been reduced to less than 1.2%, which reduces pollution and saves resources. Secondly, water-based coatings can be directly applied on wet surfaces and humid environments, and the dryness of the material surface is not high, and the coating adhesion is very strong. Then the painting tools can be cleaned with water, and the consumption of cleaning solvent is greatly reduced. The electrophoretic coating film is uniform, smooth and flat, and all parts can be coated with a certain thickness of coating film, which has good protection. Electrophoretic coating has strong corrosion resistance.

In the application of water-based UV paint, drying technology is a big bottleneck. There are many drying methods for water-based UV paint. Different drying methods have obvious differences in the drying speed and film quality of water-based paint. The following is an introduction to the characteristics of microwave drying and ultraviolet drying of water-based paint drying methods:

Water-based uv paint

Microwave refers to a penetrating electromagnetic wave with a wavelength of 1mm-1m and a frequency of 300MHz-300GHz. The commonly used microwave frequency is 915-2450MHz. Microwave heating uses the principle of dielectric loss, and the dielectric constant of water is much larger than that of dry matter. Most of the energy released by the electromagnetic field is absorbed by the moisture in the paint.

The microwave field periodically changes the direction of the applied electric field at a high speed of hundreds of millions of times per second, causing the water molecules to oscillate rapidly and produce a significant thermal effect, so that the temperature inside and on the surface of the paint rises rapidly at the same time. The advantages of microwave heating are that the drying speed is extremely fast, and different substances have selective absorption of microwaves; there is no shape requirement for the object to be dried; the heating of the coating film is very uniform, there is no temperature gradient, and thick films can be dried.

For water-based uv paint, a drying method of ultraviolet curing can be used. The so-called UV curing refers to the drying method in which water-based UV paint is cured under UV irradiation with a wavelength of 300-400nm.

Water-based UV paint contains a small amount of photosensitizer. Under the irradiation of ultraviolet rays, the photosensitizer absorbs ultraviolet rays of a specific wavelength, decomposes to generate active groups, initiates the polymerization reaction of film-forming substances, and forms a network structure to cure the coating. Ultraviolet curing has the characteristics of fast coating curing speed and good coating film quality. but. This method can only be used to dry water-based UV paint, and can only be dried into flat furniture coating panels.
